Like many other community related items, we have left the question about the 
Council out of the pre-launch discussion.

You have the initiative. Do you want the Maemo Community Council to have a 
continuation as an elected body in the MeeGo project? If so, go and propose it 
to the Meego steering group: http://meego.com/about/governance

I personally think that the council elections should happen and planned. I 
guess candidates will need a public positioning about MeeGo and the current 
situation. Nobody really nows how maemo.org, moblikn.org and meego.com will be 
after 6 months but they will be very different than now. Elected council 
members might have an important role there, as representatives of the 
transforming community.
