| hello list,
|
| i'd like to include figures with transparent background in my slides
| using pdflatex. i convert png's to pdf using imagemagick (downloaded
| yesterday, should be the latest version), adding the transparent
| background. however, there's a catch: while adding the transparency
| works well, the colors of the pdf look pale when compared to the
| initial png.
|
| i use the following command:
|
| convert -transparent black in.png out.pdf
|
| different background colors yield the same results. any ideas how i
| can pep up the colors in the pdf?

If you remove all the balck, then of course the whole image will appear
to the human eye to be a lot brighter that before.

Spock: Captain, it doesn't appear in the symbol table.
Kirk: Then it's of external origin?
          Spock: Affirmative.
Kirk: Mr. Sulu, go to pass two.
Sulu: Aye aye, sir, going to pass two. --- fortune(6)
