| hello list,

| i'd like to include figures with transparent background in my slides

| background. however, there's a catch: while adding the transparency
| works well, the colors of the pdf look pale when compared to the
| initial png.
|
| i use the following command:
|
| convert -transparent black in.png out.pdf
|
| different background colors yield the same results. any ideas how i
| can pep up the colors in the pdf?

If you remove all the balck, then of course the whole image will appear
to the human eye to be a lot brighter that before.

well, it doesn't look *brighter*, but pale, i.e. the colors are not
that intense anymore. i'm wondering if i have to live with that or if
i can increase the intensity of the colors int the resulting pdf.

btw: if i do the following:

convert -transparent black in.png out.png

the colors in out.png have the same intensity as in in.png, so it's
gotta be related to the conversion to pdf, right?

cheers
markus
