We need context. The ImageMagick command line programs generally return
0 for success and 1 for failure. If you are running from the command line,
what is the command you are running. If you are using a language wrapper
which wrapper? Magick++, MagickCore, MagickWand, etc.? If you are using a
language wrapper we would need to see the code before we could speculate
why a status of 139 is being returned.
We are using ImageMagick with Gallery2 2.2.1.

Also, I following these instructions to compile ImageMagick right on our web
server:

other than I wget'ed a specific version (6.3.4-0) from the server instead of
accepting/taking the symlink to the current version.
