In the same vein, I can also say that even the mail part of Mahogany clearly can be improved in many ways (just look at our TODO/roadmap). But IMHO it is also a quite useable and nice mail client and I think that having embedded Python interpreter would be a great advantage for it and would probably attract more developers (and users, of course) to it and make it even better. So obviously I would be very glad if you could help us with that -- but I can't promise you the impossible such as making Mahogany a really good news reader in the near future. I can definitely promise to [try to] fix any bugs you encounter in the mail part however and helping as much as I can with Python work if you decide to start it.
