I think it's more that my using software is like the Monty Python sketch where the piranha brothers are shaking down a British base commander for protection money on all of his tanks, airplanes, etc. I'm like the clumsy piranha brother. You see, when I'm around software, "things break". and since you don't want anything "unfortunate" to happen to your software, I'm sure you can see the value in purchasing "insurance" to "protect" your software... ;-) VZ> I'm afraid this will have to wait until I finally upgrade to W2K. I have noticed that there are some curious things about environment set up that don't do what I expect but I've been so busy beating my head against cyrus imap that I haven't had much time for notetaking or experimentation. you know, it just occurred to me that maybe I didn't set up the identity correctly and maybe it only has effect VZ> VZ> ESJ> convince you to move the IMAP INBOX to the very first item in the IMAP VZ> server VZ> ESJ> list of mailboxes. If you do that, you may want to preset the order to include the inbox being top of list. That way I can write my own code to create a speech user interface. now for some more bugs: I'm getting inconsistent behavior of when Emacs is invoked as the editor vs. the built-in editor. It's probably a UI oops based on where I set the flags so I'm going to do some more experimentation. Filter rules don't always work. As you can probably guess, I have a bunch of them but I'm noticing that they aren't always working. The pattern is this: Mahogany polls the inbox. I see new e-mail and some of it should have been filtered (moved) to other mailboxes. I select all of the mail in my inbox (ctrl-a) and run the filter rules. sometimes all the mail is moved as it should be other times, it is copied and the mail is left marked as deleted and I need to manually expunge the deleted mail. I've also started seeing crashes again. I've had three today and all of them seem to happen at the end of the inbox poll+filter cycle. I will admit to them catching me by surprise so I'll need to pay closer attention to give you a better clue on the failure. I've also had problems with copying files manually to my missed spam folder. I use Spamassassin to eliminate most of my e-mail..err..unsolicited commercial e-mail and occasionally it misses. So I move the spam to my "missed spam" mailbox where it is reported to razor as spam. About one-third of the time, the move fails but if I try again, it succeeds. I have attached the log in case that is useful.
09:09:04: Connection to the folder 'IMAP Server/00missedspam' lost unexpectedly. 09:09:04: Could not open mailbox 'IMAP Server/00missedspam'. 09:09:04: Cannot save messages to folder 'IMAP Server/00missedspam'. 09:09:04: Failed to save messages to the folder 'IMAP Server/00missedspam'. 09:09:04: Moving messages failed.
on the user interface side, when you try to drag-and-drop a piece of mail, you need to get a better icon because it's far bigger than the mailbox listings and I've frequently dropped messages in the wrong mailbox. You need to do something to indicate targeting better.
