Mahogany certainly has improved a lot since I last evaluated it. It is now the first MUA that might win me over from mutt :-)
I've done some testing today but encountered a few annoying problems. When I try to subscribe to a newsgroup (I have a caching NNTP server), the fetching of the headers takes *ages*. The NG contains ca. 25000 postings, and Mahogany estimates it will take 3 hours or so. slrn/pan/sylpheed can download the headers in a matter of seconds, when they're all fully cached at my NNTP server. Why's that? I thought Mahogany'd use the XOVER command. It's implemented in the sources, I haven't actually checked if it's used ;-) Nobody's seriously using it as a NNTP client at this performance?! One other thing: I'd like to store sent messages in a folder on my IMAP server. This is simply not implemented, right? Should I use Bugzilla to report stuff like this? The snapshot and CVS versions both fail to compile. I can't judge if its because of messed up sources, or because they need something other than wxWindows 2.3.2.1 to compile against. The latest released Mahogany compiled ok against 2.3.2.1.
