Hello,

I have been using Eudora for many years, and would like to find a better
email program. I've looked at several, but because I'm a python programmer
Mahogany seems like it might be a great choice.

A quick review of the behaviors of Mahogany 0.64 under Windows has led to
these questions:

1. How well does Mahogany scale? My current message store is more than
150,000 messages.

2. Is there a find command that works across mailboxes? The one under
"message" seems to operate only within a single mailbox. Also, it returns
by highlighting matching messages... not in a separate window, temp
mailbox, or anything else that is easily browsable.

3. When I start the app and go to a POP mailbox, the message panel is
blank. If I double click the mailbox again, I get the status message
"mailbox is already open". The only way I can get the messages to display
is to click on another mailbox and then come back to the one I'm trying to
view.

4. Similar to #3: Sometimes when new mail is downloaded to a POP mailbox,
the message counters ( %t, %u ) update, but the message panel is blank. I
have to click away and then come back to view the messages in the updated
mailbox.

5. How do I get messages to retain their personality when downloaded? For
example, I have three mail personalities, all with their own in/out
combos. If I reply to a message that was downloaded into one of those
personality inboxes, the reply needs to come from the "correct"
personality. Currently, I am getting the default personality only.

6. I'm having a hard time finding the "leave mail on server" checkbox for
POP mailboxes that aren't created via the wizard. Where should I be looking?

Thanks,
David.
