Maven does the tag automatically. I figured the branch was only
necessary once the process was figured out. Feel free to delete the
tag, too.

I figured I'd make a branch once we had a final tag. It's easy
enough
to create a branch from any given revision as well.
Sure. Was just curious. At my company I am used to doing it the
other way
round: First branch and once when ready simply create a tag of the
release.
That's why I was a bit confused ;)
