just MSI motherboard wont help much. MSI is a major motherboard manufacturer and has atleast 50 different boards using different chipsets in all sorts of combinations. when reporting a problem either specify the chipset or specify the motherboard model to the last letter precisely. if your motherboard uses the via8233 audio chip then alsa supports it. use "lspci -v" to find out whether you have this particular chip. best regards bobby
