Hi all,
All are thinking for a big project, its good. but what we are looking
for making operating system in to Malayalam ... its a very big project.
And I don't thing we should look a bigger project in beginning. I had a
plan to make open-office in to Malayalam. I was working for this .. but
unfortunate I unable to complete it because I was not know Malayalam.
the main challenge is user interface localization which consists of manually
translating 21,000 strings from English to Malayalam. and for this I find
non -computer people also may help us.
if you people are looking for this project Please let me know.

The first step, I think, is to make fonts.
Just started reading documents about fonts. Could not grasp the
differences between ttf otf (afm tfm) etc. Can some body explain
it recomment a good starting point.
by the way has anybody tried smc

Hi all,
I think that was a good suggestion made by Dhirendra. After all, is that so
necessary for us to have a linux distribution in Malyalam. Is there a person in
Kerala who knows how to use Linux having good knowledge in computers and
doesn't know English. But yeah the openoffice in Malayalam I believe can do
some good work.
