Yup. It worked . Thankx a LOT evry1. Actually my own fault. Aftr installation of the driver , you hav to run thz program- /usr/sbin/slmodemd --country=INDIA /dev/slusb0
I had run the program, but used to stop it b4 tryin out the dialing programs. In the manufactures words: "When 'slmodemd' is running this creates PTY (pseudo-terminal) to emulate modem port device, also this creates symbolic link like '/dev/ttySL0' (shown at startup)." So this has to b runnin inorder to use /dev/ttySL0. i figured tht out prtty late. Anyway, am happy tht I could learn a lot of new things. Hurrrrrrrrrrrray. And thnkx a LOT evry1 for yor support with regards hashir n a ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bobby P Rajan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2004 10:47 PM Subject: Re: [Mailinglist] SMARTLINK EXTERNAL MODEM - USB doubt > hashir n a wrote: > > >Helllo... > >We tried a LOT.
