I would not blame Madhyamam for explaining to its viewers from that perspective, the American military is a front end for American companies. People in developing countries have all the reason for fearing America and its companies in general. None of the companies you mentioned would do business with say for example Iran, that is banned banned by U.S law. Would you care to explain why? > Don't think for a moment that Indian Companies are > any > better..InfoSyS, Wipro and all > are at forefronts denigrating free software(remember > their opinions in > meetings about OOXML)..Dont know why Narayan Murthy > and all are given > all sort of awards..becoz they made money??? for > themselves..!! R.M.S is always welcome in Kerala(fact). But your painting him as a doctor(the hope) who checks up on the kerala government is in bad light. Why is it that time and again when one questions the greed and the misery caused by the political decisions of the U.S(like invading Iraq) and some of its Business corporations(Monsanto??), the concerned person/communities are branded as Anti American/Communist/Socialist? > > "Socialism(Communism) is a philosophy of failure, > the creed of > ignorance, and the gospel or envy, its inherent > virtue is the equal > sharing of misery" - Winston Churchill For exactly this, Churchill was voted out of office immediately after war and ideas like national health service were implemented in England. "The idea was that if Britain could work towards full employment and spend huge sums of money during the wartime effort, then in a time of peace equitable measures of social solidarity and financial resources could be redirected towards fostering public goods. This sentiment was widely shared, as the wartime hero Winston Churchill was decisively voted out in a landslide defeat in the 1945 elections. Although most of the British felt that Churchill's leadership during the war was commendable, there were a number of reasons which led to the Conservative defeat in the 1945 general election. One reason was that the public favoured a push for sweeping social changes that Churchill's Conservative Party vehemently opposed. The driving force behind this reformist agenda was popular enough, that eventually it constituted a 'Post-war Consensus' which continued virtually unchallenged until the 1980s, no matter which party controlled the government." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Health_Service_%28England%29 > > just my thoughts.. > > -Vikhr Akula > Quoting raneez mohamed <raneez at gmail.com>: > > > Hi Everbody, > > > > This are the Excerpts from Madhyamam daily dated > 29th april 2008,reported by > > E.Basheer about the need for Free Software and > > two IT specialists in goverment Authority > commenting on Software policy. > > > > To Avoid Software piracy and license issues from > American Companies,The best > > Strategy is to switch over to Free Software . > > This was the suggestion Forwarded by Joseph C. > Mathew who is the IT Advisor > > of Kerala to the news report in > > Madhyamam Daily about "Indian Software Companies > must be Monitered -American > > policy".After Allowing Software piracy > > and again bargaining for loss on piracy in the > name raid and monitering > > software companies in india for them there is an > hidden Agenda. > > Software piracy can be blocked with programs not > to copycat it.In kerala > > SPACE and IT mission are promoting Free software > > in goverment level. He hopes the future is safe in > hands of Free Software. > > > > Anwer Sadath,Executive Director of IT at school > commented that in state there > > should be long time plan in software policy > > which must implemented by Goverment and IT > industries in kerala that must be > > on the platform of Free Software So that we can > avoid > > Threats from American Companies. For this we have > to develop Software based > > on free software and opensource, where it has dual > > advantage ,first a software license in our own > hands and secondly price is > > low compared to american companies. > > > > At last the report ends by microsofts deminishing > sales in OS.which is due > > to software piracy. To avoid this the monitering > will be > > tighten in india and other south asian > countries. So its High time for Free > > Software which is always an good option to fight > this threat. > > > > > > > > Thank you > > raneez > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Mailinglist mailing list > Mailinglist at ilug-cochin.org > http://ilug-cochin.org/mailman/listinfo/mailinglist_ilug-cochin.org > ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
