@Praveen : One and the same person, lol.

1. Great to hear about the progress made by HURD. I thought it had really
slowed down over last 5 or so years, seems otherwise. Happy to hear that.
2. Openmoko: Yeah same here. Had got freerunner (inspired by Harald Welte @
foss.in) and but as you said, it had lots of problems to be used as real
phone. The battery problem was a big bummer, I had to hack around with my
sim to get it to work. Also later on played with kernel a bit and tried out
some hardware fixes with the JTAG interface. I do have to consider the fact
also that my "software freedom" might have come from lack of human rights
of some workers or in a supporting a company who does not, and at times the
chain of causality is unknown to me : Meaning I can not know what all
crimes I am supporting indirectly. Had fun with it, but I am not still sure
if I contributed enough to justify by act of buying it. Now not that, I buy
a laptop that is "crime-free", but it is to some extend a balancing act. In
some funny way of nature, it is not between black and white we choose
between, it is in the shades of gray.
3. "people who code to talk more and people who talk to code more" : Nice
one, will remember that.
4. I agree with you : complacency, lack of focus should not be the reason
to give it up, it is worth much more than that.
5. Yeah definitely, contributing in any way (other than just talk) is an
amazing thing, talk is cheap and easy. Other efforts need more time and
focused diligent effort.
6. RMS : hit the nail on the head.

Great to hear from you,
-Sumod
