Actually, that is precisely what you did. You said that we shouldn't bother implementing something that XFS and ReiserFS would fix anyway, and that people who would be running Mailman would "obviously" choose to run the "best" filesystem for their application. The fact that we would be using Maildir mailboxes as a method of handling incoming messages instead of having them written to a 7th edition mbox-format mailbox, is purely an application-level implementation detail.
