More food for thought: we've added Etherpad lite to our supported
projects and our community uses/loves that software. Result: in less
than a week they have about five times the supported languages tehy had

Let me quote their developer Marcel: «twn is great – at the beginning I
wouldn't even have thought that my pull request with i18n support would
be accepted; then we found someone who'd translate it to french (we
already had german at that time...); then someone whipped up a spanish

for, what?, 4 new languages? Amazing!».
