okey, so I found what works and what does not.
`open <message:url>` works and opens in context, but using spotlight
to find a message and pressing enter does not.

Ah, I'm guessing that part probably never worked (essentially opening
`.eml` files which is not quite the same thing). I'll note to look into
fixing that.
Off topic: I'm on vacation this week (Malta) which means I'm a bit slow
