Hey Chaim,

Have you thought of archiving your old(er) emails off line?

I began archiving my email to external resources using the app EagleFiler which
with Mailmate Export outputs message content with or without attachments from
the Server(s). EagleFiler app allows me to view and search emails within the
app as needed!

EagleFiler is very good at filtering duplicate emails during incremental
updating, BTW.

So I keep two years worth of email on line in MailMate by account and the rest
offline in it is exact form in Archives. The servers and MailMate are very good
at parsing my quantity of two years on line.

BTW, I also filter my junk mail out and delete those emails during the year
using SpamSieve from the same author, [C-Command
Software](https://c-command.com/). That reduces the .eml file load considerably.

Every year I export and update my storage. So far, so good. I have 2010-2025 in
some accounts. Previous to that date I wasn’t saving any old email due to
slowdown issues you mention (common on all email clients). Now I do on 10
accounts from various server platforms all using MailMate.

Respectfully,

Henry Seiden
