Well, I think I have seen a message like that in some client. Not that verbose, but a more simple: "You are in offline mode. Your message will be left in the outbox, and sent when you choose Send/Receive. In order to send the email now switch to online mode." I think offline mode is now alien to most users. Once upon a time, you *dialed-up* with your modem in order to connect to the internet and fetch your mail, which could then be reviewed at your own pace after you disconnected. It was not completely widespread, but I would think it was relatively common at one point. However, many years ago stopped being a common workflow. And nowadays, we are in an ultraconnected society, where the norm is to be connected 24/7. There are some punctual cases of offline work (e.g. during a flight) but the concept itself is less and less known. _______________________________________________ mailop mailing list [email protected] https://chilli.nosignal.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mailop
