I think you should try and send at least ~100 mails every day to keep
an IP warm. Otherwise you're a ghost...

Microsoft is the same way. It's too common now that you need a continual
and reasonable volume of email from an IP to keep a high reputation.
It's difficult to publicly point to the result in the places that matter
because they're all closed and internal, but it's very noticeable and MS
will tell you it's true if you talk to the right people. This is why I
cut our sending pool down to a /24 from a /22 a while back, spreading
out the volume too thin caused increased spam folder delivery
(determined by testing and volume of user complaints).
