I suggest gross[0] for selective greylisting. So you can apply a relatively aggressive greylisting for hosts on blacklists (and don't need to be ultra nervous about false positives).
Unfortunately the package in debian is irredeemably outdated. If you use Gentoo, you can use the more recent package on my overlay.
