Beyond greet pause, I've added a SMTP AUTH honeypot. My mail server advertises the AUTH LOGIN extension, and if something tries to log in, it always says it worked. Needless to say, any subsequent mail is routed to the spamtrap.
What do you do with that data?
I realize this is more work than tweaking settings on regular MTAs, but for anyone who happens to use mailfront, I have code.
Any pointer?
PS: Submission users connect to port 465 or 587 which have real AUTH for real mail.
You mean the honeypot only listens to port 25? Best Ale -- _______________________________________________ mailop mailing list [email protected] https://list.mailop.org/listinfo/mailop
