This suggestion breaks the conventions that have already been established in mailplane. All keyboard shortcuts combinations that include Cmd are shortcuts that tell mailplane the application to do something, such as the labels window or reloading gmail but also more basic functions that translate into gmail functions such as staring a message. This ensures that Mailplane's keyboard shortcuts never conflict with the single key shortcuts that gmail uses.
If mailplane were to use "l" to bring up it's own label window that would be mailplane (the apple) stepping on the toes of gmail (the orange). However, once you start mixing apples and oranges usability goes completely out the window. There needs to be a very clear line between what commands tell mailplane to do something and what commands gets passed through directly to gmail. Thus from a software design and usability standpoint Cmd-l should bring up the mailplane labels window like it always has and mailplane should continue to allow gmail to use whatever one-letter shortcuts it would like. -J On Feb 4, 7:01 pm, RWR <[email protected]> wrote: > Please make "l" bring up Mailplane's version and Cmd-L bring up > Google's. > > On Feb 4, 11:22 am, Ruben Bakker <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Quick Update: Cmd-L will return.
