Hi Francis, Personally, I can start Mailplane in offline mode. But, there are a few people reported the same problem as you.
When I did my first "offline" installation, I had the same problem. I then redid the installation, but created the Gmail shortcut when I was asked for it. It seemed to make a difference - but I am not 100% sure. See the installation movie for the exact steps I have taken. Did you create the Desktop shortcut when you did your installation?
