Hi Ruben and all, I have had similar "problems" I have solved by eliminating the Google Gears and "Offline Gmail" from Mailplane and I have a beautiful Gmail in a beautiful Mailplane window !
My problems were : impossible to connect to Gmail at startup, randomly, I had to go to another account and return to the first one. The "Still Working..." fantasy was one of the things that has made me returning full on line. But the most beautiful has been one day, as I have read a message, switched to another message, wanting to return to the previous message and never been able to do that. That day, I first killed Mailplane, took a deep breath, launch Firefox to check "online" where was that message, and found it at its place. Restarted Mailplane, no message ! Checked Mailplane's preferences, unchecked the "Use Google Gears....", quitted and restarted Mailplane and rechecked for the message that was at the same place as in Firefox. So, for now no more Offline Gmail and maybe no more Google Gears at all if only I could find how to uninstall Google Gears...
