Same problem here. Loading account with HTTPS set as default and labs enabled hangs over half the time. Clicking "Disable Labs" allows account to load.
Second account with no lab items enabled and HTTP (Not HTTPS) set as defaults also hangs, but clicking "Try HTTPS" successfully loads account. There doesn't seem to be a pattern, but it does happen over half the time I start MailPlane or change accounts. I deleted app and all prefs, reinstalled and things seemed to work better for a short while, but quickly the hang quickly resumed.
