Hi Annie, Thanks for the problem report. I am sorry for the loss of the account settings.
Here's how you can try to recover your settings: - Close Mailplane - Open the Trash icon - Look for the following two files and copy them back to their original location -- Accounts_2.xml --> HOME/Library/Application Support/Mailplane -- com.mailplaneapp.Mailplane.plist --> HOME/Library/Preferences If you can't find the files in Trash, try *TimeMachine* or your Backup. * * *How could you have lost these files?* Mailplane doesn't delete any files when updating, it most likely another software on your Mac. Do you use any app-cleaner software, which automatically cleans up after deleting an application? If yes, it could be the reason why you lost your license info when updating Mailplane. Example App Cleaner apps that could cause trouble (there are more, of course): http://www.freemacsoft.net/AppCleaner/ http://onnati.net/apptrap/ If the cleaner app asks you about deleting files: Just say "no" next time Mailplane gets updated. If it doesn't ask for you permission: Get rid of this cleaner application as it is rather dangerous. Hundreds of applications use Sparkle for auto-updates and this cleaner application may delete important files in the future⦠Try a non-automatic cleaner application like AppZapper: http://www.appzapper.com/ On Thu, Apr 1, 2010 at 7:58 AM, Annie <[email protected]> wrote: > First, I mostly like the newest update.
