I have noticed this as well. The "grey-outs" happens consistently when
I'm not signed into Boomerang, then a sign in occurs mid-stream or if
Boomerang initiates saving a message so that it can perform its own
operations. I've noticed that switching between accounts can sometimes
cause the plug-ins to not re-initialize properly when returning to eh
accounts with these tools enabled.
