I'm afraid none of the fixes Ruben has suggested has made any difference to the way Mailplane 2.5 works. I've deleted the .cookies file, makes no difference.
The "Your action was not successful" message pops up more frequently after I've tried to attach a file, but otherwise seems to happen fairly randomly, with no obvious cause. I have found that I can attach PDFs if I am in the print dialogue of Word and click on the PDF drop-down menu. There's a <Mail PDF with Mailplane> command, and that works. But I don't want to email all my Word documents as PDFs, so I have to log on to my Gmail account in Safari and attach files there before returning to Mailplane.
