If you are using Lion (10.7.1) then Mailplane 2.5.1 is already using System WebKit. And there's no know issue.
In case you are on 10.6.8 or a previous OSX version: You need to have Safari 5.1 on your Mac for the setting to work. Know issue when used on OSX 10.6.8: Some Flash versions cause the cursor to freeze in the TO, CC, BCC or plain text message fields. If you experience this issue, then please disable Flash in your Advanced Preferences. Hope this helps.
