I am experiencing this frequently myself, with Mailplane 3.0 (676).

Similar symptoms as the original poster.  It happens without attachments 
too.  I'll be working on a message (usually a reply) and gmail will pop up 
and say that the session has expired and I need to reload.  When I click 
OK, and continue typing, the message pops up again within several seconds.

Unless the page reloads by itself (it has before), I am usually able to 
finish the email and send it on its way, and then the rest of the gmail 
interface works fine without popping up the error.  Or, I'm able to save 
the draft, reload the page, and reopen and continue the draft.  So 
obviously the session hasn't expired enough for Gmail to reject the 
contents of the email.

I've tried the "Reset Mailplane" option as recommended by your support team 
via an email conversation, and it hasn't solved the problem.  Occurs on two 
computers.  Both running OSX 10.7.5 and Mailplane 3.0 (676).
