I'm having a similar problem with a Gmail account where Mailplane 2.5.13 
goes into a "wrong password" loop. This is how I sidestepped it.

   1. When it goes into the endless loop.
   2. Open keychain access and look for the Mailplane record for the 
   affected gmail account.
   3. The password in that record should be your Gmail Application Specific 
   password.
   4. Change it to your normal Gmail password.
   5. Click "Save Changes"
