it's kind of a pain to check for *ANY* path, considering the various
permutations and "tricky stuff" people might do.
there is currently a check for bare "/opt". that's the most common

are you proposing checks for... "/opt /etc /etc/opt /var /var/opt" ?
Sure. Take all pathes in CSWcommon, generate every prefix path and check
that there are none of them in there. And there must be a direct prefix
of every file in the package in CSWcommon.
