How about this existing bit: var: Dont use this. Use /var/opt/csw instead. ...it seems to be in contradiction with "use /var/run" above. You could say "well, it's talking about /var, and not /var/run, it's not the same thing", to which I'm going to reply "do you mean it's okay if csw files are scattered across subdirectories, just because /var/whatever is not the same thing as /var?" I think the best way to put it is: "The rule of thumb is to do X. One of the known exceptions is case Y, in which you need to do Z, because of W." -- giving the rule and the exception in the same place/paragraph.
