Hi,
Another possibility is that some keyboards have to be in a Performance or
multitimbral mode - it depends on the keyboard. But if you've got it working
with other program, I guess you already know about this.
So, in QWS, have you tried loading the example song? File -> Open then
song001.mid.
It's nothing stunning, but it is just to demonstrate that something is
working.
If it comes out of, say, the Microsoft GM synth instead of your keyboard,
press Alt+Enter (which is the Track Properties dialog), and Tab to Port and
have a look down the list of available ports and see if you can choose your
keybaord there.
Hope this helps.
God bless,
James.

Thank you for the new manual. As soon as I get 10 minutes with my computer,
I will read it. I have a YPG235 Yamaha keyboard, when I added it as a
device on the settings it did say portable G1. And from the help guide, I do
not think it is a port problem. Besides, like I said, I've used this
keyboard on other things before. It has a midi court.

Yes, there's a format problem with the manual and it won't open in Word. I
get it to open in Wordpad just fine, however, the version in XP.
We'll need more info about your setup. Does the keyboard have a USB port,
or
is it connecting through a MIDI interface? And what model is it? (This
later
question is important for determining which Inst file to use for it so you
get patch names instead of having to just use the numbers)

Hi all.
I just downloaded QWS on my computer last night. I joined this list
because I can't find any other way to answer my questions. I tried
downloading the manual RTF from the downloads page, and Microsoft word
said it was corrupt and could not be read. I tried to run it in wordpad
because I am not sure if Microsoft word can read an RTF, but wordpad
gave me nothing but a bazillion bullet signs and one word: copywright.
I don't know what is wrong, but the bad thing is, the way to contact
anyone to ask is on the very document I'm having trouble with. I'm
trying to use the help topics, and I thought I followed their
instructions perfectly, but I can't get my portible Yamaha keyboard to
connect with QWS, though I've done it with other daw software. Does
anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.
