Just remember, the F4 key turns the metronome on and off.
Did you press it after starting the playback to ensure it's on and not off?

Hello again,

I think I did all you suggested. I have the preferred instrument and port set.

I copied the Casio instrument list into the QWS folder.

Under Options, I chose Instrument. Two ports are shown, including the one I need. It is never selected. I could select the instrument, however.

I set up a dummy track and found that I can play every instrument on the list. This includes the drum set for the metronome.

The settings for the metronome correspond to what I found in the instrument list.

To me this should mean that the path between input withkeyboard) and output, synth out) is as it should be.

I still have no metronome.

I guess this can still be pilot error. I'm old enough now, so that I have learned how to make tons of mistakes.

I can only hope you're still with me.

Joe Giovanelli

If you configure QWS to use that instrument definition file it may solve
your problems, as you'll point to exactly the instrument you want.
Copy the INST file into your QWS directory. That should let you access it in
QWS. Set it up as the default instrument map for the port you're using to
reach the synth and then check your sound selections in the tracks,
especially the track with the metronome.
