Hi Nicole
Nearly there,!!!
Thanks so much for this - this is the procedure, telling me which controller
numbers to use with which value, which I was looking for.
But: my keyboard doesn't have a modulation wheel...

Okay, here's what I would do.
First, read the manual about the control editor. I'm not going to walk you
through the specific steps you need to do that, because it's already there.
There may be an audio tutorial on this too, so check the QWS site.
Pick where you want to insert the parameter change, and start there. I'm
assuming they did the right thing and used NRPN values for this, so we'll go
from that assumption.
At your first insertion point enter controller 99 with a value of 99. At the
next insertion point enter a controller number of 98 and a value of 1. Exit
the control editor.
Now comes the interesting part. Go into QWS and remap the modulation wheel,
controller 1, to controller 6, data entry. I'm going to assume they're not
using an MSB/LSB pair here, but they may, so this gets a lot harder if they
do. Back up the sequence before your control change and start it. When you
hit your control change point move the modulation wheel up. You should hear
a point where the rotary speaker effect kicks in. It may be gradual or it
may be a switch. Make a note of approximately where the wheel is in its
sweep, and either extrapolate that to a value you enter in the Control
Editor or just record the value into the track. I'd suggest doing this on a
separate track so you can scrub it if you need to, and also so you can copy
the data into other tracks instead of going through this all over again.

This is exactly my problem - in the dsp data sheet there are only these
values I gave you, namely a msb, a lsb and a bank which works out to
msb times 128 plus lsb.
That's why I'm stuck - where/how in qws do I enter these values to
invoke this effect?

Okay, you're going to want to go into the manual and familiarize
yourself
with how to use the Control Editor to input this in. Another option is
to
re-map the pitch bend wheel a few times to record it on the track.
However, you're missing a piece or two of information. I'm assuming
this is
an NRPN command. This means you still need values for the data entry on
how
you get it happening. That will involve either controller 6 or a
combination
of controller 6 and 38, depending on if they are using high definition
data
entry values.
