Contemporary poets who use the Classics in their creative work would be Ann
Carson, Susan Mitchell, especially in her most recent book, EROTIKON
(HarperCollins, 2000), Jorie Graham, Alice Fulton, Ann Lauterbach. I can't
think of any writers of short fiction, but they must be out there.
