usage

We meet the same problem in our project.

The memory increases when we are using mgservices.we can find any api to
release the memory.

In the beginning, the memory is about 54Mb,it creashes when the memory goes
to 220Mb.

Now,we have to use a .bat file to restart the server before it goes to the
dead line of the memory, before it gets to 200Mb.

we restart the server in the midnight automatically.

This is our tempory ways to solve this problem.

by the way ,if u only pan or zoom the layer in tile mode.memory wonn't
increase, only if u use mgservices to add or edit the

information of the layer.

If u use tiled map, tile the whole map before u publish it.the tile
processing cause crash very quickly.

hope can help.

主题: [mapguide-users] mgserver process hangs / memory usage

hallo,

we are using MGOS in the following environment:

- MGOS 2.0

- IIS6 on MS Server2003

- ASP application / .Net environment

- Server with dual processor / 4 GB RAM

our application has one map, one layout, about 50 layers, some MRSID, some
TIFF and shape files, user can calculate a route, therefore we have 4
dynamic layers in session repository

The mgserver process occasionally crashes and monitoring the memory usage I
can see the following behaviour:

After starting the mgserver process the use of memory continously increases,
the pagefile size grows permanetly, and both of them do never decrease.

Error messages in mgserver logfiles:

- out of memory, bad allocation

- failed to stylize layer

- no more fdo connections

- unexpected exception

- ressource busy

the error messages are not allways identical.

The mgserver process hangs completely, can not be restarted so I have to
restart the server.

Does anybody have a similar situation ?

I didn’t change settings in serverconfig.ini, any hints, what to change
there ?

Why does the mgserver process not deallocate memory, may be there is
something wrong in my IIS6 configuration ?

Thanks for any help, Hans
