I am working on a copy of Bartolommeo dalli Sonetti's Isolario (ca. 1485) which was once in the possession of George H. Beans (and previously in the Austrian National Library, apparently sold as a duplicate sometime after 1920). It is now in the collection of the Mortimer Rare Book Room at Smith College (Northampton, Massachusetts), acquired from H. P. Kraus, who acquired it from Beans. There is a pencil note on the front free endpaper "GHB 295" - I imagine this is Beans's note, and that it refers to some sort of catalogue of his collection. I would be grateful for any information that could lead me to further information about such a catalogue. P.S. This is the copy about which Michael Buehler recently posted an inquiry on my behalf - having thus learned of the existence of this list, I now post for myself. -- John Lancaster ([email protected]) [Curator of Special Collections, Emeritus] [Amherst College Library] P.O.
