Hi Gilbert, I have compared your map image with my images of Frederick de Wit’s copy of this map, both early and latter states, and can say that with relative certainty that it is not his map without the cartouche. It may be a proof state of Janssonius’ or a copy by C. J. Visscher. Visscher’s (Not Nicolas Visscher I but his father) maps are also very similar to the Jansson and Blaeu maps. I do not have an image of C. J. Visscher’s map or one in a later state printed by N. Visscher I, so I was unable to compare his map to your map. One question your image is relatively resolution so I could not see if it has a single neatline or a double neatline. The Jansson map has a double neatline. Also the plate mark looks to be about the same width in the Janssonius map image that you gave us. Without having the map in front of me I can not say more. Best George Dr.phil. George S.
