OK, thanks Adi and all the rest of you for your responses. Adi, I am not
sure that applying a mail filter to move the Mapinfo-L messages to a folder
(which I already do) will prevent the autoresponse. I don't want to clog up
Mapinfo-L on this one, so rather than try it and see, I will not risk using
the autoreply feature this time!

ps. I am hoping that the traditionally overcast/wet British suimmer weather
will be replaced by clear skies for the 2 minutes of total eclipse here on

Actually you can still do that,
In mail filtering rules,
You can select that if the selected message is
from "List" move it to particular folder
and for rest you can send the message.
This thing can be done best using Pmail as
there you can specify If "Rule" doesn't then
do this action .
In that case you can say if message is not from
mapinfo then send a message.
