This isn't unique to SQL 7, although I don't know the solution at the
moment. I'm having the same problems in SQL 6.5 and MapInfo 5 and/or 5.5

We can initiate a connection and select a table but in the end mapinfo
gives an error message
saying that another application is using the connection and quits.
>From Access I can link to SQLserver 7 without any problem, so I think
it's a MapInfo bug.
