The same problem I also face, but I have found other way, as
most of the time I am working in a workspace
so in that workspace make it km.
so you need not to change it everytime.
If any other solution is there please let me also know

Is there a way to permanently set and save the distance units that MI uses
so it doesn't have to be changed in the options menu each time the program
is opened? Presently the units always default to miles and I would like to
change this to kilometers.
