I have posted a question previously on the list with regard to setting
default units with no success.
(I was trying to change the settings so that Map, Options, Distance Units -
millimetres & Map, Options, Area - hectares are
the default settings.) Further reading of the manual (never thought i'd see
the day.........) led me to the mapbasic section of Set Map Statement. I
notice in here that there is reference to setting the distance units & the
area units so that I assume they become the defaults. Question now is how
do I get into the syntax of the Set Map Statement so that I can change these
settings, & then save those changes ? (remember I am not a Mapbasic power
user....)
My aim is to make these settings the default as they are the ones that I
have to change every single time I start up Mapinfo.
ps. I have tried inputting into mapbasic "Set Area Units "hectare" & Set
Distance Units "mm", & saving these settings. Is there some way I can save
these settings to say a "Startup.wor" for them to become the defaults ?
