>My question is how do I display text objects only inside a given region?
The simplest way I have found to do this is to create a mask in the
cosmetic layer to cover the offending text. If the area is rectangular,
create a white, opaque rectangle or polygon around the area to be
printed that's wide enough to mask anything that you don't want to see.
I normally create a polygon covering the exact extent of the map I want
to plot, then create a second one thats about 20% larger. Delete the
inner rectangle from the larger one and your left with a buffer aroung
the map that acts as a mask.
