These "back-ended" systems allow users to receive email only, or turn
email off and only visit the web based list. It also allows the user to
set digest by day/week/whatever or receive only subject lines by
day/week/whatever. I wish it would present the "threads" a bit better for
those who visit the list via web but it certainly is flexible. Does not
matter if members/visitors post via web or email, the list remains the
same for all. It automatically archives.
We use it here but I have no experiences with a list that
generates traffic like mapinfo-l. Ah, the dreaded -l's, the way of the
slide ruler they go.
