Check your preferences or configuration in Winzip.  If running Winzip
8, you will find this by going into options, Configuration, System,
General, Avanced and selecting the associtions.

Winzip 6 and 7 had a similar setting but I don't remember if it was
accessed as above.

You may also want to turn of "TAR file smart CR/LF conversion" under
the Misc tab.  I have found that sometimes, this feature isn't so
smart :)

Once you've performed the above, Winzip will handle this type of
compressed files just fine.
