Thanks for the info, but:
1) please clarify whar you mean by "Merant driver" (is it "MapInfo Informix
Driver 3.60" ? if so, the route to install is anyway to select IUS
driver...) and "IUS driver"; all these names are quite confusing; why not
refer to the exact ones (as I quote in my text)
2) can you check your statement "this version of Informix is pretty old": as
far as I know, the latest database server release for Informix is Dynamic
Server 2000 and was announced in Sep 1999; it is intended to provide an
upgrade to the 2 previously distinct lines of products, which are still
supported: Version 7 and Version 9.
