Folks,

Bill's idea works well. Another way to reduce pixilation (is that
the proper word?) is to increase the size of the output image. The default
is the size of the map window or layout page size. If it is 8.5 x 11 change
it to 17 x 22. This will get you a much larger files size but will also
give you an image that is much more detailed. Give it a shot.

Thanks

        Bill,
I am constantly creating maps for engineering meetings and they all
use
PowerPoint presentation slides these days. What I do is at the
point where
you actually save the file, change the selection from Windows Bitmap
(*.bmp)
to select a Windows Metafile (*.wmf). The maps are not as pixilated
in this
format as are the bitmap images.

        hi

we are exporting map windows (mapinfo professional 6) to word (save
window
as...file format..insert picture) with poor results. i searched the
archive
and saw some stuff suggesting this process back in the v.4 days. is
this as
        good as it gets?

        thanks
